What it is made of
Six materials
- OakHard, pale, and forgiving. Marks sand out.
- WalnutDarker and softer. Shows a dent, hides a scratch.
- AshThe palest of the three. Takes a knock visibly.
- SteelPowder-coated or blackened. Welded, not bolted.
- WoolUndyed and felted. Does not show brush marks.
- LeatherVegetable-tanned, uncorrected. Darkens where you sit.
